Screen doesnt show :(

HELP!

I recently replaced my x10 mini pros cracked screen and when i put the top section back on the screen goes from being ok "showing the slide to unlock" to a blank screen with faint horizontal lines on it!!! and when i remove the top section of the phone it works again? the cable is attached fine and the new screen is working, what is going on please i spent alot of money on thios phone i need help
