Default [REQ] 3G VZW Xoom 3.1 update w/o wipe

I'd like to request a method for updating my 3G VZW Xoom w/out having to wipe it. Think of it as a manual process that mimics the OTA process. If at all possible, I'd like it to not require root (I know, right!), but this last option is, well optional (i.e. not required). Consider this a challenge. I hold devs here in very high regard & never take their efforts for granted. I'm always amazed at the community & work I find here & that's why I'm posting this request. I'm willing to help however I can, feel free to post here or dm me. So, huzzah to whomever rings the bell & fulfills this request & tia.

Signed,
Cake & Eat It Too

If I'm not mistaken - P3Droid posted a process on the mydroidworld forum that doesn't wipe your Xoom when manually updating. It does require root, I believe. Here's the link:

but in order to get root you have to unlock and that requires a wipe...
