I had this problem until I flashed the conf file for my region. You should be able to find the file in this thread or the other gps fix thread floating in the dev section.

The GPSfix did nothing for me. I am running CM 7 RC1. Takes me approximately 8-10 minutes to lock.
There is no such option for cm7. Any tweaks must be done via file system. Check the market for gps fix for cm7. There are some that might help.

I am on stock froyo at the moment, upgraded to GB flashable without the baseband update... then I flashed back my backup, since GPS was crappy on GB leak and I cannot stand having this problem it feels like I am back on my Samsung Vibrant...

Anyway these are the settings, not sure if this helps since it is from stock...
First in my GPS test menu under System settings it reads SULP, not SUPL ?!

SLP Server Setting: T-mobile (has green dot)
APN Setting: T-Mobile US (epc.tmobile.com, has green dot, only one selectable)
SLP Auto Provision: (no check mark, disabled)
C-Plane Setting: Loc Estimate (has green dot)
Misc.: nothing selected (no check marks whatsoever)
EINF settings: nothing selected (no check marks whatsoever)
Use XTRAS: Enabled (green check mark)

Using evils 2.3.3 rom...getting 30s locks down to 2m accuracy outside.
heres what I did:

Flashed the g2x conf file for south west(my region).
Changed to the spirent supl server.
Enabled conf.
Disabled xtra settings.
Changed to tracking mode.
Changed to ms based.
Turned off use wireless network.

Do your first lock outside.

Running [ROM] [2.3.5] Trigger » 08/04 | new Honeycomb lockscreen! which btw i might say is freaking awesome! Im getting basically the same positive feed back as the rest. but the code doesnt work for trigger because i presume that trigger doesnt have the lg back bone. this is what i did to make it work.
-Dl and installed the SouthEast G2x cwm from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1085354
which he modded for the g2x from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=953630
i think if i remember correctly he got it from here lol... i did this all last night so forgive me if i who got from where wrong hehe
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=953630
-Dl the gps fix apk from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...8&postcount=92
then did a power down battery pull and then a hard reboot. turned on google maps and to m amazement it fixed close to where i was at (i was in the T-mobile store where i work btw) then ping right where i was at with a very very little blue circle around me. close gmaps went out side put an addy in the gmaps told it to navigate(which before would take over 5 mins then i would quit) and it found me in probably 6 secs i was just happyas can be! hope i didnt break any rules and hope someone finds this helpful!

FWIW ... . I just got a replacement G2X and of course GPS sucks ... put on Xboarder ROM and gps was worse ... So, I went to my old G2X and snagged the gps.conf (which I modded from the LG menu) file and moved and overwrote the existing file to the new G2X running the CM7 based rom and now that puppy works great.

Back up yours ... then get mine http://steve841.dlinkddns.com/.
Extract zip. DO NOT FLASH .zip
Copy gps.conf to SD from usb...
Using es file explorer ...put it in system/etc/ using es file explorer and yes to overwrite.
Reboot and see if it works for you like it did for me...
