I can see the problem on almost every screen, even with maximum brightness...
Unfortunately, the store where i bought the device doesn't allow to rma on products that had the seal broken (i had to broke the box seal to turn on the device, as it is obvious) and says that will only allow me to replace it if samsung replaces devices with this problem...
So, or i sell it and lose some money, or i need to lose time to create a software screen filter...which probably will not be good enough to present a good quality image...
Can you post a pic or two showing the discoloration in apps that you notice it in most? From your description, and knowing it gets amplified by the camera, yours might be a good extreme example. So far, no one's seen a pic of the discoloration in a real world example; only the gray background. It would be helpful in understanding whether it effects different devices to varying degrees or whether we all just have different standards.
If it's as bad as you say, how are you going to sell it? And why wouldn't you send it to Samsung to repair it?

It's a shame I didn't get photos of mine before I returned it was visible pretty much everywhere. High brightness settings reduced the problem but didn't get rid of it completely.
Having seen the photos you posted however has given me confidence in getting a replacement since they don't seem to have this problem at all, if it's there it's very subtle. They do seem to show a slight blue tint in parts of the screen but that might be caused by the camera. Even if it is visible it would be a lot less annoying than a brightness gradient across the screen like I had.

For comparison, here's a picture of my phone with the gray test screen. Maybe you guys can use it to compare yours. I never posted it originally once I realized my phone had it too. It's at 10% in a fairly dark room.
I can only speak for myself and I can't see it with the naked eye. I've never seen another SGS2 so I don't know if the issue comes in varying degrees of severity. I got involved in this thread because I posted that my phone was fine and the OP said prove it. When I took the pic I saw the discoloration that's being discussed. No one's been able to post a pic that doesn't show the discoloration so I'm not questioning that it's there either by design or as a defect. Others like me probably want to know what it means in real life which is why I posted pics and asked the people that were most vocal to post something other than a test background showing the issue. And that brings us to today...
Some are trying to tell us, that this issue is not visible in real life. Please stop claiming that. On my SGS 2 it was visible in a lot of applications so I returned the phone and I'm not glad about this. So please stop telling us that we are seeing ghosts. Be happy with your phone and ...

Where was it said the issue is not visible in real life? Let's assume that on a scale of 1 to 10, ten being worst, my phone's a 1. It sounds like you and couple of others got 10s. And how do you know more phones aren't like mine than yours? Who knows where the majority of phones fall in? People sharing pics (good and bad) helps determine that. So far, there haven't been any bad pics of the issue on anything but a gray screen. Hopefully somebody will post some soon showing the issue as it would appear in everyday use because I'm assuming that's what counts for most people. And everyone's expectations are different and what is totally unacceptable to you may not be to someone else. Sharing objective information allows them to decide. I certainly can understand your disappointment but trying to make the problem worse than it is only serves to freak people out and doesn't really accomplish anything.

I'll see if I can get a picture later. It's subtle but there. SwiftKey should show it.

Well the Yellowish line is completely visible. With Naked eye, yes. It's definitely a bad bad fault of Samsung. Getting mine tomorrow, just hoping that I will be on the Non Yellow list
