Default [WIP/APP] Volume+ [Gingerbread] v1.7.1

This thread is a copy of the one in the Nexus One forums. I posted it here because the volume boost works much better on the O2X, probably due to much better quality speaker parts. Anyway, you need to be running any Gingerbread ROM (as long as it includes the AudioEffect API's, so CM7 will work as will anything based on it.)

Q - Which is better? This or DSP Manager?
A - Neither. DSP Manager has a fully editable EQ whereas mine has EQ pre-sets and a volume multiplier. They both use the same API's (albeit in a slightly different way) but use different methods to achieve the volume boost. This app can also go much louder than DSP Manager can (not always a good thing!) so you will encounter distortion with the higher values.

THIS APP AND DSP MANAGER WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS IF THEY ARE BOTH ENABLED. PLEASE DISABLE ONE TO USE THE OTHER.

Q - Which is better? This or Voodoo Sound?
A - Voodoo Sound, If your kernel/phone supports it. See thread here - clickyclicky!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Only for Gingerbread (2.3) Roms.

------------------------------------------
Current Version: 1.7.4
Version in Testing: 1.7.5 [not available yet]

KNOWN BUGS:
* None known
This is only for the main loudspeaker, turn it up too loud and it will distort horribly. You have been warned!
DSPManager will probably not work too nice with this app but it should be ok if you disable the "phone speaker" EQ in the settings.

The same effect can be achieved with DSPManager, but this can go much louder.

This shouldn't cause any damage to your phones speaker (unless you turn it up to +15 or so), but i would strongly advise against playing music out of your phone's speaker constantly. It distorts, therefore it's doing some damage, however minor it may be.
Enjoy!

Update: Volume+ v1.7.4 (ONLY AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET. WILL BE UPLOADING TO MY WEBSITE SOON)

Changelog

Update: Volume+ v1.7.4 (ONLY AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET. WILL BE UPLOADING TO MY WEBSITE SOON)
* Disclaimer updated
* Credits list added
* Version Checker added
* Help and Info page added
* In-Call problems should be fixed

Update: Volume+ v1.7.3
* Max Volume increase (from +8 to +15)
* Cosmetic Changes

Update: Volume+ v1.7.2
* Settings not saving fixed

Update: Volume+ v1.7.1
* Force Close bug when you place or receive a call should be fixed
* Bug where the volume boost doesn't affect the ringtone for incoming calls should be fixed

Update: Volume+ v1.7.0
* Semi-fixed HTC Sensation and EVO 4G bug
* Fixed a few other bugs

Update: Volume+ v1.6.2
* Added Bluetooth Settings
* Added Stereo Widening
* Added Virtual Room Effect

Update: Volume+ v1.5
* Added Headset Settings. (EQ, Volume and Bass Enhancer)
- Values tweaked heavily for the headset

Update: Volume+ v1.4
* Now includes various EQ pre-sets, separate from the Volume settings.
* Bass Enhance will not do anything with certain EQ settings (treble boost, for example) because the lower frequencies have been removed completely.

Update: Volume+ v1.3
* Completely removed the lowest band from the EQ (Can be added back in with the Bass Enhance if you wish)
- This pretty much completely removes the bass frequencies, which is good, because the Nexus speaker can't really handle them anyway. This means you can push the volume up much higher without it distorting (it also means the sound will get more tinny the higher you go).

Update: Volume+ v1.2
* Modifiers were being calculated wrong, making each option louder. This has been fixed.
* Disclaimer added

Update: Volume+
* Many volume settings
* Bass Enhancer (not great on the Nexus, might sound better on different phones, I dunno)

+8 is good for ringtones though

I'm afraid not
The app works by exploiting the AudioEffects API which is included in Gingerbread. Wont work on Froyo.
