Default [Q] Can't get rw on /system

I rooted my Infuse the other day with SuperOneClick and it worked like a charm, but I am not able to get rw access to the system folder.

I've tried mount and chmod through external adb and the on device terminal emulator, and I've tried the mount system rw app as well.

I get reports of a 'Read Only' file system, and 'Access Denied' messages.

I was trying to alter the build.prop file to get Netflix working, but through others efforts, that is a moot point. I would still like to figure out why I cannot access the /system though. Thoughts?

If you have root than try using root explorer or use sgs toolbox to mount system in r/w.

I rooted using SuperOneClick. When I ran Ti Backup the first time and had it check busy box, it upgraded to 1.18, but I went back to 1.17 using busybox installer. I just un rooted and re-rooted (had to stop in at the dealer to check the GPS...) and now have 1.17 again.
I've tried ES file explorer and Astro, and the mount system rw application. When I go to the root, and look in the data directory, it is empty. ls in adb shell returns opendir failed, permission denied.

It accepts the string (without 'busybox', that throws the same error) but I still cannot create files or push to the system directory.

Looks like this is a fairly old thread but looks as though it still may be un resolved, so I'll throw in my two cents.

Assuming you are properly rooted, and you grant root explorer superuser access you should be able to navigate to your desired directory, hit the r/w button up top then modify what it is you want to modify. I have done this multiple times successfully. The directory is r/o by default so you will need to toggle it to r/w prior to editing.

This is the only way I have ever needed to do this and it has worked every time. Good luck friend.
