Essential apps for android

Andftp – A usefull FTP browser and file browser.

Andie Graph – A TI calculator emulator. You need the TI rom’s to use it.

Antennas – Find where the cell towers are in your area. Kind of cool.

AppSaver - Easy install apps from your SDcard, Quick save apps to SDCard, Quick uninstall apps you dislike.

ASTRO file manager – The file browser that did not come with your phone.

Battery Monitor Widget - monitors Battery Use in every possible way you can imagine and more.

ASTRO Bluetooth add on – share files via Bluetooth.

Audiogalaxy - Superb music streaming app. Install the server software on your PC or NAS and have all of YOUR music all the time. AG > Google Music for me, don't want to know what Google would charge me to host my 320g in the 'cloud'.

AudioManager/AudioManager Pro - Customizable audio control app. Set different levels for everything - ringtones, media, alerts, etc... then save profiles. Makes switching them up super simple with shortcuts on the home screen.

Barcode Scanner – Check if the prices are good at the store.

BASSWAR – check if your bass is in tune. Just a tone generator.

Blade Buddy - Blade Buddy Free (Ad-supported version) allows you go edit various system settings on your Android Device. Some functions don’t work if you haven’t rooted your phone.

Box.net - online storage (up to 5 gb free)

CamScanner – turn your phone camera into a scanner. Generates .pdf’s.

Craigslist Notification - Get notifications when stuff is posted to craigslist.

CSipSimple - High quality OpenSource SIP OpenSource (GPL) project for SIP on Android.

Car Home - The stock android car home - A car mode for your phone, makes it easier to use as you drive. Make sure you also download Car Mode Control. More details HTC Car Panel HERE (thanks GorillaPimp) Download HERE also

Car Mode Control - On HTC Sensation, you need this to launch Car Home.

ConvertMe - Utility for converting over 100 various units of measurement (distance, area, volume, mass, temperature, and many others)

CrossConnect Bible – Free open-source Android Bible. Many different versions.

Dropbox - Dropbox lets you bring all your photos, docs, and videos anywhere.

DI.Radio - Digitally Imported streams the world’s most addictive electronic music. If you like digital music, this is the app for you.

Dice Player - Hardware Accelerated Media Player

Double Twist - Itunes for Android.

ES File Explorer - An alternative to andftp. File copier/explorer, windows/samba networking support

Extended Controls – Great way to have a widget that controls and toggles many settings (wifi on/off, vibrate/sound/silent, gps on/off, etc.) Too many options to list, great tool!

Facebook for Android - Facebook on your phone, I like it better than the widgets, but that is just me.

Firefox - If you just have to have a different browser from Opera

Fring - Group video calls and chat.

Gas Buddy – I like finding cheap gas. This helps.

Gmote 2.0 - Control your computer's media player from your phone.

Google Books – read over 3 million books on your phone. Some of them free.

Google Docs - You need to be online to do it, but you can edit office docs with Google Docs, and it is free.

Google Earth - Google Earth for you phone

Google Goggles – Use pictures to search the web.

Google Listen - Podcasts. Great settings to download new ones only while on WiFi and charging.

Google Sky Map - Point your phone at the sky, and Google Sky Map will show the stars, planets, constellations, and more to help you identify the celestial objects in view.

Grapher - Plot functions and trace their graphs with ease! This is a simple graphing calculator with graphing capabilities similar to TI-83 or TI-89 calculators.

GSpeedo – GPS speedometer. Tracks speed and distance travelled, also G-forces.

Gstrings - a chromatic tuner app for android phones.

Guitar Scales – a list of guitar scales.

Juice Defender Beta - Battery Saving Utility. Some find it useful.

KakaoTalk - Enjoy free group or one-to-one chats anywhere in the world. (both iPhone and Android)

Lookout - Lookout offers top rated Android security to stop malware, spyware, data loss and device loss.

Opera Mobile Web Browser - Great Web Browser.

Overlook Fing - the ultimate tool for network management: network

Pandora – Internet radio station. Listen to your favorite music.

Photoshop Express - Edit and share photos virtually anywhere. Touch to crop, rotate, adjust color, and add artistic effects.

Picasa Tool - Picasa Tool Pro helps you to manage your Picasa web albums with simple yet powerful user interface designed specifically for Android powered smartphone.

Plex for Android - Plex for Android allows you to browse and play your video, photos, and music right on your Android device, streamed from Plex Media Server on your Mac or your PC

Polaris Office – Open, read, and edit Microsoft word, excel and powerpoint (No Android Market link anymore. Not sure why)

Quick Office – Open, read and edit Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and .Pdf’s

QuickPic - Smaller! Faster! Clearer! The best picture viewer/browser/gallery!

RealCalc – Scientific Calculator. More powerful than the standard one.

RingDroid – Make and edit ringtones

Ringtone Maker – Make and edit ringtones

Robotic Guitarist – play the guitar on your phone

Run Keeper - Track your fitness activities (time, distance, etc.)

ShopSavvy – Barcode reader, price comparison app

Simi Folder - a Folder Widget with a horizontal/vertical scrollable Launcher.

Skyfire – browser that does flash

Skype – Skype for your phone

Slacker – Free Internet radio stations. Listen to your favorite style of music

Smartbar - Manage Apps/Tasks. Batch Install/Uninstall/Backup apps. Customize things.

The imposible game its a lot of fun and addicting simple but fun (pay), Speed 3dx ( also a fun game and free), words with friends. If you like manga and anime: manga what (free), crunchyroll (somewhat free). To enjoy tv series: tv now (pay). Tools: Go sms pro, go launcher ex, both free and good I dont know if the best but at least im happy with it.

Games games and more games I'm talking Nintendo 64,psx4droid,and gameloft,snes,nes. I mean hell all I'm missing is PSP on android.hopefully it will be soon. Oh yea and love mp3 download u can find that in the market

I just wait about ten minutes and let the phone situate itself then go into app manager and close down anything I won't be using for awhile and jump on a game or the internet also XDA app. I use the internet more than calls or messages.

I had autostarts, but just uninstalled. I found an app called android assistant which looks pretty good. does quite a bit

What would you recommended for taking screenshot I'm using shootme for now but if anyone knows of a better 1 let me know please.
