My Friend's borrowing me the CSL Mi-700 Device, so I can start to development for this device, but this project will closed anytime when my friend want his device back.

Untill now I have successfully to porting the CM7 ROM to this device, but need more bug fixing, and will not release in short time.

But for now I will release my first version of FM6 variant ROM

This ROM is based from the latest Official Release by Viewsonic, I just add / remove some feature in this ROM.

Kernel feature:
  • Overclocked up to 864MHz

ROM feature:
  • Froyo 2.2.2 FRG83G
  • Root installed
  • Busybox installed
  • Bash installed
  • Gingerbread Blackout Blue installed
  • Percentage Battery meter installed
  • Doc to go removed
  • Touchpal removed
  • File manager replaced

On this ROM I'm using Clockwork recovery 2.5.1.2 from hucqim80

This is some preview of this ROM:

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR DEVICE BY FLASHING THIS ROM

highly recommended to charge your cell phone at least 90% to prevent failure during flashing process...

Download Link:
FM6-3310-0-5029-Andro-ID.7z

Warning:
The overclocked kernel is not compatible with the newer device that using ITE Touchscreen Hardware instead Panjit Touchscreen

but the newer device still can use this ROM with stock kernel, you can download from this link:
ITE_TS_boot.7z

For the flashing process with fastboot mode, read the second post.

Flash With SUT:
SUTL3_v1.6.5.zip

This is the latest Original Official Firmware from Viewsonic:

Fastboot Mode Flashing Methode
Flashing process with fastboot mode is more easy instead using flash_image methode.

You just need fastboot and adb binary, you cen get here: fastboot&adb.7z

But, this methode just available if you have the working system..

this is the step for flashing recovery, boot, system, etc. with fastboot:

go to command prompt and type:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
and your device will reboot to fastboot mode.

After that you can start to flashing what partition do you wan't to flash, example:

Flashing boot:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Flashing recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Flashing system:
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
Make sure you type the right partition name and right *.img name..

Or you can use the flash_image methode in your device, you can get here:flash_image.zip

For the people that have problem with custom recovery, you can flash the original recovey with fastboot mode.
here the original recovery file:
FM6-recovery.7z

Happy Flashing...

How does one determine which touchscreen is in the viewpad 7?

What are the changes with 2.2.1 and 2.2.2?

the newer device from Viewsonic that preinstalled android 2.2.2.
if your device is preinstalled 2.2 version, i think it's fine to flash with this firmware. sorry, i can post the link about changes of 2.2.2 version, i,m on phone.

Ok now I am confused. 1st post says newer devices are not working with this kernel. But you are saying viewpad 7 preloaded with 2.2.2 are the ones with newer screens... Not panjit ones, which were the viewpad 7 loaded with 2.2.1

so you can use overclocked kernel, and event actually your device is using ITE touchscreen, you can use the stock kernel.
