[Q] No Visual Voice Mail or Messaging for Gingerbread?

Let me start by saying that I absolutely love my T-bolt now that I have Gingerbread, and Netflix! My problem is that I need voice mail and messaging and I have neither. Anyone else experiencing this and or have a remedy?

download visual voice mail by verizon in the market. use the search button. there are 2 build.prop edits you need to do to get it to work.

The phone will not let me get past this screen. Any other ideas as to how to activate my voice mail?

use root explorer. go to system
then long press on build.prop and select open with text editor
scroll down to a line that looks like

says ro.horizontalVVM = true

there will actually be 2 of them that say this. it says enable device to check for previous versions. change both of those to false

reboot your phone and you will be good to gol

Mine are set to false and still no luck. On build 2.0.5

you have to reboot after the changes are made. also did you save the changes? after you change them to false you have to click menu and then save changes. then reboot and all works fine.

Not quite sure why you don't have messaging.....if I were you I would reflash the rom, because you should definitely have a messaging app. As for the VVM, I believe it wasn't included due to a conflict with the 3.0 messaging app.

I have messaging. The vvm was already set to false I didn't change it. So should I change it to true the reboot. Change it back to false and reboot.

i would do this and also uninstall your verizon visual voice mail and then reinstall it. i have the one of the little blue guy
