Default SKT

SKT version.

I think I lost my APN settings. Messaging doesn't work. I tried updating through kies and pre-rooted firmwares, still doesn't work. How do I recover message capability? Also factory formatted.

What are some ways to root a phone? I know the flash pre-rooted firmware through odin. What about superoneclick?

Is there any custom roms that work with this phone? matpcclub? The thing is I don't want to flash to EU versions since that is how I lost my apn (cyanogenmod). Also lose nfc and dmb.

Thanks for any help.

If you can read Korean visit this page. I think you can reinstall Korean custom rom:

1. Using a root browser navigate to /efs/imei
2. Create file "keystr"
3. Open it as text and write "ON"
4. Set permissions to rwx rwx rwx
5. Reboot

Hmmmm. I'm not having those kind of problems. When you flashed the i9100 rom, did you do factory reset of your phone? You need to wipe your phone first to get rid of some problems. Be sure you have backup of apps and data that are important. Also did you set permissions on keystr?
I figured it out. when I uninstallled es explorer, everything regarding lock button is fine.. thanks.. btw, I just notice a big difference in my battery draining. I've got battery empty before I got home from work, which is not during my gingerbread rom.. Is this thing related to the kernel I flashed? What kernel are you using now? Are you having the same problem? thanks..

Once you flash a gt-i9100 rom, the ability to use DMB will be lost. That's a common problem in flashing other roms than the official korean to shw-m250 variants since Korea I think is the only country that widely uses DMB on mobile phones.

Actually if you flash your phone to i9100, you will lose the NFC capability but no worries. Thanks to the hardworking XDA guys who added this feature to our phone. Check this link and read carefully. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=102

For vibration that's a common problem when flashing i9100 kernels to our m250*. Its quite irritating since it so weak that you can't even feel it, but not big deal for me but let's hope that some good guy out there could fix it.

For kernel, it's your choice. There are various kernels out there. Just compare them and choose which is best for your taste. I'm currently using Siyah Kernel 3.2b8 and it's really good.

I think it's the ICS rom whose at fault here. It really absorbs battery too much when there are activities going on on background but at sleep only around 1% is eaten. It's the same with the latest Korean ICS rom. I'm using a custom rom right now which is Omega rom aokp version with siyah kernel and my phone last for 22 hours(sometimes more than a day) with 13% battery remaining with heavy usage of wifi and some games.
Phone: Korean Samsung Galaxy S2(shw-m250s)<GT-I9100>
ROM: [XWLSS] Alliance ROM V8 <JB 4.1.2>
Kernel: Stock for now

Yes. Just download*SHW-M250S.UD18.zip.xxx files from 1 to 33 from the link
http://pspmaster.tistory.com/110
Use 7-zip for combining all 33files into one tar.md5 file. Use ODIN to flash. I guess u know how to use odin. But do it on your own risk for shw-m250s. I did the same way to convert my galaxy2 from european version to korean version. If you want u can also tegrak kernel from the link below by odin:
http://pspmaster.tistory.com/attachm...C3A1023375.tar
Plz do it carefully. Better to clear all catches before flash. Hope it should help return ur phone to Korean version

Actually there is a site which is easier. http://w.jkh.kr/gb4/bbs/board.php?bo...9B%A8%EC%96%B4 If you can't understand Korean, use google chrome and translate it to english. There are two kinds, the rooting version and the normal one. Choose UE21(SKT) since it's the latest.

What rom are you currently using now? When you flashed your phone to eu firmware did you include the gt-i9100 pit file? Also if you will revert your phone back to the official Korean, be sure to include the m250s pit file if you came from i9100 firmwares.

Right now I'm already on the korean pre-rooted version. Everything works fine except sms. I'll try what you guys recommended tomorrow.
