Default Reading books/novels on the Xoom ?.

Just wondered if anyone was using their Xoom for reading ?. I have a kindle but it would nice if I was able to sell it and use the transformer for my main reading device.

I guess the screen wouldn't be ideal for the eyes but the plus point would be that you could use it to read at night without the need of a light. Also the interface is nicer than the kindle, but the weight is substantially more.

Any thought's ?

Yup using the kindle app to read my books. Had to use calibre to convert epubs to mobi.

It's pretty good for reading and it doesn't tire my eyes at all. Can't say about reading it in the dark because I usually leave the lights on when I'm reading in bed.

google books is great. Even if you read at night there is an option for that as well as you can change the brightntness or even make it white words on black backround

barnes and noble Nook app for android works great.

you can get it from the market, it is tablet optimised now. You can import your epub library, has night mode, 3d page turning, etc etc.

Great thanks, I'm hoping these various book apps incorporate the landscape 2-page style google books has adopted.

I have no frame of reference for any other eReaders, but I use my Xoom quite a bit for reading. I've used the Nook and Kindle apps and Google Books, and they all work very well.

The Nook app has the 2-page landscape mode. It is my prefered app for reading on my tablet. I prefer Aldiko on my EVO 4g though.

The nook app isn't available for me. Any chance you could backup the apk and upload it ?.
