I tried this ROM for the first time today on an GT-i5800. However, I seem to have messed it up. When the phone boots, it just keeps displaying the screen where you see "GT-I5800" in the middle and "SAMSUNG" at the bottom.
This was a phone bought on eBay and another custom ROM was on it before. I did the following to reflash it with this CyanogenMod ROM: - Went into CWM
- Went into "Mounts & Storage" and selected
- format /system
- format /cache
- format /data
- format /boot
- Went to "Update.zip" and selected "install zip from sdcard"
- Selected the CWM ROM and installed it and after that installed the GApps zip.
- Reboot
My guess is that formatting all the partitions was not a good idea? I simply assumed that it wouldn't be a problem, since the kernel is included in the ROM zip as well.
// edit: when I boot into CWM, it displays some error messages at the bottom:
Quote:
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log

// edit²: never mind, after searching around a bit more I found out what the problem was http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1314629 . Hopefully the phone won't give any more trouble (could be a fried chip after all, according to these other threads). But right now, CyaogenMod is running at least.
