It's the same one as the Droid X currently. In fact, all of the Droid X accessories work with the X2 quite well.

Well, I can tell you I bought the package for the Droid X from Verizon. The dock came with a nice power plug and hdmi cable. I regularly download movies to my X2 and watch them through hdmi through the dock on my TV. It really does rock. I haven't encountered a format that it can't play.

The only problem is inserting the phone into the dock. It's a pain in the arse.

mine should be here Tuesday.
I bought the bundle pack too, only from Amazon for $50 instead of the $70 or $80 they wanted at Verizon

I got the DX2 bundle from Verizon for $20.00 right before the DX2 came out. I haven't used the car dock but I use the media dock at work every day. It does it's job. Holds my phone visible like a clock. I can still access my phone and even change the bottom apps on the media home screen. I have not yet used it for HDMI though so this isn't really a full review. One thing I can say is this thing can be a pain in the butt to dock. Having the two ports so close together you almost have to wiggle it in. (that's what she said) You should get used to it and eventually not have a problem.

hey, I forgot about this post. I got the bundle for $50 myself, and I used the media dock on my nightstand. I have plugged the phone into the dock in my truck just for the fun of it but haven't actually driven with it yet. The media dock is cool, but the car dock seems to alter the functionality much more. It changes the screen to look like a traditional GPS, and there are giant buttons for shortcuts. In short, it seems pretty cool. I just wish there was a good pro-clip option for my vehicle, because the suction cup just doesn't do it for me.

For anyone with the media dock, does your phone randomly repeat the default notification sound every so often while docked (Not an actual notification of something, it does it normally when you plug it in the dock)? Mine does it randomly and it's pissing me off. I wish there was an option to turn off the notification sound. My OG Droid never had this issue. =\

nope, it does it 3-4 times as I struggle to line up the damn thing so it will slide into place, but that's it.
