Default Droid X2 Boot into Recovery

Found this on another forum...

Here's ORIGINAL post (sorry for lack of hyperlinks, still too new apparently to post outside links):

droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x2-hacks/28061-boot-into-stock-recovery.html

Another link:

droidforums.net/forum/droid-x2-hacks/151092-instructions-boot-into-recovery-dx2.html

•Power down
•Power up holding the power button and the down arrow at the same time and keep holding. You will see it say something to the effect of "Fast Boot." Now you can release.
•Press the down arrow until you get to "Launch (or boot) into Android Recovery" or something to that effect. (Roughly about 7 presses).
•Press BOTH the up and down arrow simultaneously. It will load the next window we all know.
•Now press the up AND down arrows again. Now it will put you into the menu screen.
•Up and down arrows are still used to scroll. Your power button is your "enter" or "select" key.

Ok I can confirm this does work, I tried it myself... maybe this can help the devs figure out the DX2???? Attached pic of what recovery looks like...

Also on post:
"I also found something interesting out. If you power on pressing the up arrow and power button simultaneously, it gives you RSD tools or something like that!"

Hope this post helps!

So is this what we need to move forward with the DX2? I'm just wondering if something has been keeping the devs from working on this phone besides locked bootloader...

Will we eventually see customization like we see on the DX1? Just curious...

I'm pretty sure the problem is that the image you flash has to be digitally signed.

yeap... we can fastboot flash on atrix but if the partition image we flash isn't signed you won't reboot and will have to recover from an .sbf file. be really careful until there is a droid x2 .sbf file somewhere for y'all to save your asses from.

also, the update.zip files for updating android are also signed... so you'll still want a CWM or OpenRecovery -like 'fake' recovery environment that'll let you apply update.zip files that aren't from motorola (and make backups, etc)...

If it helps from a dev stand point, hopefully someone knows JRummy personally. Because I suggested in Droid X Forums that we should start a donation for JRummy so hecould get his grubby hands on an X2. And someone in there said he is willing to dev on it if he had one. Tus, my suggestion. Some people are willing to donate (myself included) and I have tried emailing JRummy. But he is probably swamped because I have yet to get an email back from him. And that is why I thought I would post here.
