Default [MOD]Stock Camera App

The problem with the Arc stock camera app when used with hdpi (low lcd density) is that the buttons are not aligned. I recompiled the app and aligned the buttons. I am running my lcd density at 182. The sweet spot for my taste.

Backup your stock camera app if you want. It is located in /system/apps. Then uninstall. Unrar the file then copy it back to /system/app. Reboot phone. Go to /system/apps, install. Then using titanium backup, convert the camera app to system app. Enjoy!

Runs perfectly on both 2.3.2 and 2.3.3.

Sorry I should have been precise. It is working on mine using 2.3.2. Will try to update later to 2.3.3 and make adjustments.

How did you root by the way? Remember, it is for high lcd density settings. Will not work right in default lcd density of 240.

I flashed the 2.3.3 TFT, and then i overwrited the rooted system image.
I have the Honk Kong version now, but i'm thinking on flashing the global version now.

Don't worry

SE has made a VERY GOOD job with the camera app. Too good that I cannot find the bitmap compressformat string so I can make the saved images to png or at least 100 jpeg for no loss of quality. It must be in one of those .smali files. But each .smali file can have 100's if not 1000's of lines. My eyes are hurting already. Can someone help me in the right direction please?

It would be awesome if someone could mod/optimize the camera. The horrible compression rate is the only thing that really annoys me on the phone.

You recompiled? You have the camera sources? Might that help with freexperia's rom for Arc?
