Default [Q] Talon 0.2.1 + Voodoo Sound

Hey, first time poster, long time reader (search button is good!).

I just wanted to document the issue I had in case someone else could learn from it.

I flashed from Continuum 5.5 with Talon 0.1.7t15 to the new Serendipity 7. After booting Serendipity (and account setup/tibu restore/etc), I rebooted to download with the keycombo and flashed Talon 0.2.1 via ODIN. It seemed to go off without a hitch (love the new Talon splash screen), and my usual barometer for a successful kernel flash (voltage control extreme) seemed to be behaving, so I thought I had a successful kernel flash. However, when I launched voodoo control plus, it showed:

Module needs to be loaded
Device or kernel not supported
Name: SGH-I897
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7.I9000XWJVH-CL184813

I tried a dalvik clear and re-flashing Talon with ODIN again, same thing. After not finding anything searching the forums, I sent existz a pm (thanks again for your rapid response) and he suggested dalvik and cache (tried, no success) or otherwise uninstalling and re-installing the app.

I uninstalled Voodoo plus, but couldn't remove the voodoo cooked into Serendipity via the application management screen. Then tried to re-install from the market, and it failed silently (showed up in the status bar as a download for a fraction of a second and disappeared). So I rebooted, and tried again, and it installed successfully.

Voodoo now shows that the v9 module is available in kernel (although it still says the app module is incompatible with the kernel), but I can listen to my voodoo-enhanced music, so I'm happy.

I figured I would contribute my experience back in case it would help someone.

Thanks,
