Question [Q] Where can I check the latest versions of firmware?

Hi all

I got my Galaxy 2 this last week and wanted to know a couple of things about firmware, updates...

1.- Kies is not great... Is there any alternative? Can I update my SG2 with another software?
2.- Where can I check the latest versions of the firmware?
3.- Kies is giving me the amazing "This version of the device cannot be updated"... My phone comes straight from Samsung, so I guess I have the Samsung official ROM. Also is not rooted (for now)

Thank you all :)

P.S. I also got the pink crap in the lens :P anyone having this got it out with any firmware? I'll try to create an action for Photoshop to remove it. Let's see if my 2D skills can help the community with this path.
