Couple quick questions on rooting and 4g with replacement phone.

Well I rooted my bosses phone about a year ago using unrevoked and put a fresh rom on it. He recently broke it so her got a new one and wanted to check up on some things before I root. I checked and it is currently running 2.2 build 3.70.651

- Can I use unrevoked....I have also heard about a rooter called s-off it there a benefit to using this instead?

- I know I need to backup my wimax keys but not sure if I do this after rooting or if there is a way to do it before.

- Does 4G work with custom roms or does it need to stay stock?

I did do some looking around before asking but I just wanted to be sure I am crossing my t's and dot my I's before I root the bosses phone. Thanks for the help

Use unrevoked forever to root, it is basically one click and it will flash S-off during its automated process... then I'd suggest flashing amon ra recovery. Backup the WiMAX keys via amon...

You don't need to be stock to use 4g, but some roms don't have 4g. 99% of the time, the first post of the ROM thread will have a working/not working list... check there for 4g if it's important that the Rom has 4g

Use unrevoked 3 to root not forever. It will install clockwork recovery , do a nadroid backup, which will backup wimax keys. Stick with 3.7 base and most have everything working.

Unrevoked 3 runs unrevoked forever during its process... the unrevoked forever is technically the S-off part of unrevoked3... sorry for my lapse of full accuracy
