[Q] Restore recovery backup from stock rom

So I had a different phone and it was running CM7. I made recovery back ups of both stock rooted sense and cm7. I had to get a new phone because mine was not working. The new one has 2.3.3. Is there a way to go back to one of my back ups. Are the backups hard coded for the hardware? Thanks for any help

No, you can't/shouldn't try to restore backups from your old phone. But since you've got the latest ota, you've gotta wait until a new root method is developed.
