Default XTC Clip

Hi,

Spoke to HTC support today regarding this software release to unlock the bootloader.
The guy on the phone was pretty honest with me & said don’t expect it any time soon. They’ve released a software update recently & they need to wait & fix any bugs that may come out of that, once that’s finished, those changes will be added to the next software update (which will include the unlock). He advised, this could be a while.

Anyone know of anyone who provides XTC Clip service in the South Wales area?

Im a bit dubious about doing this as I’ve only just got the phone… What you guys think?

As someone who went the XTC route myself, I've never looked back since , but at the same time, I'm not going to advise you to do it....it's whether you're willing to take the risk....and it is a risk, worst case scenario can you afford a new device if you encounter a fatal hardware failure during year one after you've XTC'd it and have no means of warranty?

See this post for XTC clips around the globe: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1042997

It appears that progress has been made recently with regards the software only S-OFF for the IS see http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1115210 Although still no release date. But, I somehow reckon that they'll achieve this before HTC manages to roll out an OTA unlock for us!

Good luck with your decision!

Well buying a new phone isnt really a problem, not sure if I wanna spend the next year wondering whether my phones gonna go pop or not mind! Especially if it dies on me whilst I actually need it, which in my line of work could be quite tragic!

Now, this is very interesting. Isn't the IS the same as the DS? Think I'm just gonna wait for this! Yeah your right, I dont think HTC will be releasing anything anytime soon. Not a good thing considering I'm probably gonna be getting a Sensation when that gets released.
