Default Two problems; speakerphone and voice to text...

Just curious if anyone else has noticed this:

1) The speakerphone is really loud. Kinda nice sometimes, but I would like to be able to turn it down a fair amount more than I can.

2) The built in voice to text really sucks. Takes forever. Though the mic on the Message app that comes with, works really, really, well and really fast. but I don't know how to use THAT mic when just using voice to text in email or messaging - either Handcent or the default app. I'm talking about when you get a text and it pops up on your screen. That voice to text is awesome. And Googles voice to text app works well, too. I just need to know how to use it instead of whatever the hell is being used by the default email and messaging and Handcent apps when you fire them up "maunally". If that makes sense.

Thanks

I've notice it, as well. I'm thinking of returning the phone. Battery life stinks, bloatware, poor voice recognition... Originally had the Samsung Charge until I realized there was no led light for notifications. Maybe I'll make the triad and return the Revolution for the Thunderbolt.

I've read there's a file that needs to be downloaded when you set the voice to text engine to Google. However, I'm not given an option to switch to Google in my settings. If anyone has a fix for the voice to text on LG, I'd also appreciate the help.

I did download the speech to text app and it works great... but no way to hook it into any particular app. I'll bet there's a config file somewhere...

But, if you root the phone, which is easy - I rooted my Charge and brought it back like that - then you can kill the bloat and up the battery life as a result. I honestly don't have a big issue with the battery like. It's not great, for sure, but it's no better or worse than my old Droid Incredible, really. An exrtra battery is a fact of life for most of these phones, I'd say. the TB is supposed to be worse.
