Reconnect to Kies without unplugging?

After using Kies I sometimes still leave my phone connected to usb but may want to use it for stuff so it disconnects from Kies. Is there anyway to get Kies to reconnect to the phone withut unplugging and replugging the usb in?

Sorry not an answer, but, I came here with exactly the same question.

Not an answer either.
Have the same problem albeit on the Galaxy S (i9000)... I would have thought such a trivial matter would have a simple solution (or that it would have been solved come a new model), but nobody seems to know.
IMHO, it's like having to turn off, then on the engine on your car if you want to open a door to get out.
There's got to be another way...

I haven't found a solution yet. I didn't want to cause extra wear on the usb (esp since I thought I had a fault with it at one point).

For now I just use Kies wifi to sync. I also use the Kies air for some file transfers.
