none of these ROMs are doing a TOTAL wipe though. Every one i've flashed so far, I've still got the same screen unlock PIN as my stock OS....

don't touch that unless you've got something to ODIN back to hahahaha. BTW, if you get the red warning screen that you had a bad firmware upgrade, just ODIN right from that screen...

can someone who hasn't messed their phone up yet (still running the docomo ROM) rip your system with dd in ADB and post the files?

no. probably different. perhaps a directory listing of block devices would reveal something intuitive? Let me check mine and try to dd them to SD and see what the sizes are.

They are, in fact, not the same.

Wonder which block device it is. Maybe just infer based on what the resulting file sizes are and which one is 7 or 16 MBish.

I bought mine two days ago, and only this morning did I realized that there is a retractable antenna that is used for the SEG TV. Have you tried deploying it?

yeah, there is an antenna. 1seg App won't even attempt to tune. It's totally different behavior in the app after flashing a kernel with root.

... I've got a feeling the baseband is /dev/block/mmcblk0p8. I'm about to revert to a friends...
