Wired earbuds and mic combo

Has anyone gotten a earbud/microphone combination to work properly? I just got the PhillipsSHH8006/28 headset . Audio works fine, both in call and when listening to music, but the microphone doesn't seem to work at all. I plugged them in to my friend's phone and the mic worked just fine, so it seems unlikely that it's a physical problem.

I'm currently using the EE4 Gummy Charged ROM on the imnuts PBJ voodoo kernel, so it could be something with that, but I thought I'd ask in accessories first to see if anyone has had any luck.

Interested to see if anyone else comments on this. I have a set of Senneheiser headphones with the exact same problem. Weird thing is, I went into the Verizon store and the headphones worked fine on other phones (including my old Incredible) and the salesman's cheap headphone/mic set worked fine with my phone.... can't figure it out.

I've been able to get a couple of headphones w/mic working with my charge.

I got the first one from eBay for less than $2 and the other one for about $5.

I'm running on rooted EE4 with Voodoo

I went on Verizons web site and it said ibeats would work with charge....nope. I've tried the Bose...nope...gonna call Samsung.

My in-ear skull candy's mic does not work. The audio is fine.

I have since given up on finding a high end set of headphones with a mic that works with the charge. Settled on monster turbines from best buy. Sound awesome.

I use diddy beats with mine, works great.

Mic works, and I have pause/play control by clicking the little remote on the cord, no volume control however.

Wow, glad I checked here first... I was just getting ready to buy a few pair of the Klipsch Image S4i earbud/mic headphones...

Has anyone actually heard from Samsung? I own the Charge and my girlfriend owns the i100 Gem (from a Verizon reseller). We go to the beach a lot and I'm looking for something we can use to listen to music and take phone calls. I was hoping the Image S4i's would be the move, since I own Klipsch speakers and the brand is outstanding.

I know the Image S4i's are certified to work on iPhones. What do you guys think?

I used a headset/mic that came with my work blackberry bold, and it worked fine (both headset and mic).
