Default dpi changed -> dialer crashs

Hey,
my gf just got an Ace and as the resolution makes stuff way to large one of the first things we (read I) did was change the dpi from 160 to 140.
Surprisingly this resulted in the dialer app crashing whenever trying to make a call. It's not just the dialpad (DialerTabActivity.apk), although that crashs as well, but also the real dialer (Phone.apk) that just fails.
Anyone got the same behaviour? Any ideas on how to solve it? I haven't experienced such an issue on any other phone. Using 2.3.4 XXKPH firmware.

Unhappy Same problem

There is a similar post somewhere here. Yes the dailer crashes and when we googled some say using alternative dailers like dailer one etc works. Im currently using Villian rom 2.3.3 and i tried almost all the dailers out there. IT DOES NOT WORK lol Does anyone know a work around to this problem cause for me so far its only the phone apk that crashes

both the dialer (visual interface with number buttons) as well as the phone.apk (the thing in background handling the calls) crash with changed dpi :( first is easy to replace, second isn't

DONATE TO ME
A possible solution is to decompile the above apks, find and edit the layout xmls and then use it.

We shouldn't change our DPI until there's a viable solution
