Default [Q] How to upgrade CM7 without loosing any apps or settings

Hi,
I am currently on CM7 RC0. When quarx releases RC1, how can I upgrade my RC0 version to it.
Also, will I lose all my apps and settings in updating?

1. BootMenu->custom recovery
2. advanced->wipe Dalvik Cache
3. wipe cache partition
4. install zip
5. reboot

Yes,we can!

I always use this way updating cm7 nightly.
Never lose apps and settings.
but system app will change to nightly version,
And you can use "system app remover" or "Root explorer" to remove the apps you don't need.
Only "Wipe Data" will make you lose your apps and settings.

My understanding is that for both CM7 and CM9 the process ids the same to update nightlies...
wipe cache...wipe dalvik...install zip...wipe cache...wipe dalvik...wipe batt stat...reboot
this way we can keep the data and apps intact
anyone...please confirm if this is correct
