Default Something really weird has just happened at motorola support forum

Hello all,

At motorola support forum there was a thread started by someone asking for motorola to just "leak" the keys... suddenly a hex code sequence appeared at the forum and the thread was blocked (requires authorized access). Now, there is a really HIGH probability (like 99.99999999%) that this is just a joke... but who knows... here what was posted:

Code:
Almost forgot about this thread! So anyway, here is that key you asked for:

Update:
Ok, it is a joke, it's an encoded string, here is the text:
Code:
Greetings, fellows. We know that you are dying for the unlocked bootloader. Moto is not the only "player" that has an influence over decision - carriers have their say in it too, so don't just blame us - contact the carriers too. As a fellow engineer - my personal opinion is to not limit knowledgeable users by locked bootloader. But I also? think that modding of the system sw voids the warranty - would you be willing to void a warranty by unlocking and modding the phone? Anyway, this is meant as a tongue-in-cheek little joke, not something to be taken seriously or to have conclusions drawn from it, nor is it in anyway representative of an official company view. Have fun!
Cheers

To clarify for those who don't quite understand, this is what you get if you put the "key" in the OP into a Hex:Ascii converter. In the words of Eddie Murphy, "Ha ha ha, VERY FUNNY."

The answer is yes I'd be willing to void my warenty. That benifits motor too.

The FCC (I may be remembering the wrong one) said rooting is legal but it can still be a point to void warranty.

Sent from the bowels of hell...
I mostly am using my phone, which has bad search functionality. If i missed a previous thread get over it.

Here is my answer to the Moto dev:
Yes I dont give a crap to the warrenty, since i live in Israel and using a AT&T device I dont have any warrenty anyhow. I prefer an open device that gives me the freedom to mod it as much as I want, and to take it on my own risk. That's what happens with all the other users that buy their devices in different country, so why the fu@k I can't? If I was gonna buy a phone and the warrenty would be an issue I would have bought it in my country, from a carrier.
So please stop playing with our balls and say it's the wind!

Here's something ive been thinking about...Motorola says it is not only them but the carrier holding back the bootloader from being unlocked... this is the part I dont understand. HTC announced they will be unlocking all bootloaders https://www.facebook.com/HTC/posts/10150307320018084 .. doesn't ATT sell HTC phones too? Did HTC say it's a carrier decision?? No!

If we trust the poster, the "us" in the string is telling. Who posted it? What browser do you use, can you grep through the cache for the original? I would copy all your cache files so they don't get overwritten (if they aren't already)

Motorola and HTC = different companies which = different contracts between them and AT&T. Don't assume just because they manufacture like products that the business relationship and contractual requirements are the same.
