Hi guys,

This was requested by several people, but I wasn't really going to do this, knowing that 2.3.3 update was about to be released soon.

But since it's postponed to August, here it comes: zKernel for baseband 54+ :)

Features:
- latest SE sources (2.1.A.0.492)
- FPS cap removed
- overclocked to 1.13GHz
- in-call volume increased
- full netfilter support (droid wall, wifi tether)
- drivemapper support (2.2+ native app2sd)
- working with basebands 54+ (67 recommended)

Developers/Cooks: Feel free to use my kernel in your roms, but please, don't forget to mention which kernel is used and link to this thread :)

Download:

This download is for stock 2.1 ROM only! If you're using custom ROM, please check with the relevant dev/cook!

zKernel 22062011.zip - update file for xRecovery 0.3

Sources may be downloaded from SE Dev page. Patches are available at FreeXperia Git.

Cheers,
z

How strict is that warning for 2.1 only.....

Before I go testing on 2.2 roms...is it destined to failure or does it just need testing by someone?

PS, great work!

You should really try it, I don't think Z has tested it. I guess that GPS and APP2SD will be broken with this kernel on 2.2.1 ROMs.

100% bootloop / stuck on SE logo / all FC. You really need the ROM dev to adjust the ramdisk, this is how it works :)

Z, I tried to flash your kernel but no changes made on About Phone.
It didn't flash then. "About phone" should look as on the pictures attached. Are you sure you're on xRecovery 0.3?

Hey Z, when the ramdisk gets changed for froyo ROM's, will there be broken functions? Like a broken APP2SD en GPS?

Thanks,

PlayGunsta

    zKernel_20072011 uploaded.

    Changes:
    - no more crash on boot ("boot animation->lockscreen->boot animation")
    - voltages modified to ensure stability with all frequencies
    - underclocked - added 19MHz frequency @ 0.9v
    - interactive as default governor

    zKernel_20072011.zip

It seems that interactive governor works pretty good for our devices, providing good balance between performance and battery life. For now I'm gonna use it as default for my kernels.

In case of any problems, please report in this thread :)

I have uploaded a stable kernel. From now on I will try to maintain 2 branches:

    - stable - stock rom with well-tested fixes
    - testing (stable + oc/uv/performance hacks).
