^^What if I flashed Kenn's 2.3.4 and the radio SBF after that! Would I be able to downgrade to 1.8.3 ?

kenneth's update.zip is basically brick proof. anything you do to radio/bl or other more instrumental features of the phone are subject to dubious methodology.

I'm getting stuck at the last phase of flashing. It keeps on saying: please manually power up phone. Status is never going to PASS

Edit: already solved it. I thougth that I was flashing the unlock sbf, but was flashing the kennith radio instead. Seems that flashing the new radio won't work untill you have gingerbread installed

(Last edited by hotweels258; 9th July 2011 at 03:16 PM.) Reason: Nevermind, it worked just by using the commands after getting to this point.

I get the same thing even though moto phone portal is on.

I updated my phone with the stock ATT gingerbread...can I use pudding still? With so much bricking going on I wanted to be careful.

I would leave the bootloader locked but I lost root and can't seem to get it back.
Thank you,
jank0023

I did the ota update yesterday. After trying to flash pudding, i got some kind of error saying no os. I was then only able to go to some kind of text only nandroid menu. Thinking I could sbf.back to 4.183, I ended up with a brick. So be warned...

I don't think there is root for the new OTA w/o having your bl unlocked. Unlocking the bl was the only way i could get root. Since you need to fastboot flash an img file or root through cwm

But, i can only get root for terminal and root explorer, but not titanium, adfree, or sqlite editor.
