Default [Q] Calling all former G2X owners!

As you all may know, the G2X has issues. I hate the fact that it has been released with so many issues and that after 4 returns, I have not had one perfect phone. After being treated like crap with customer service about exchanging to the sensation, I wrote a well worded letter and sent it to all the big wigs at TMobile corporate figuring I would finally get the sensation for free (if they valued my service). I asked for the sensation at no charge or for them to let me out of my contract since they continue to give me a faulty phone. An exec called me today and stated that they would accept the $50 upgrade but they would do no more. She also said they would not let me out of contract. When I mentioned filing a complaint with the BBB, she said she looks into all complaints from them and that she would not be calling me back and the offer would no longer be valid!!! Now that is guts. No wonder they have been slipping in service year after year......

My question is, should I just pay the $50 for the sensation and be done with it? I really hate the G2X screen bleed and it seems like HTC will be better on updates.

Please help me make my decison.

I'd say if you can upgrade to the Sensation for $50 and be done with the headache and hassle....go for it. You can start enjoying a device, rather than weeks of being pissed.

I would say NOT to pay the 50 bucks. Check the forums there's some guy that got (I think) a free sensation and kept his G2X. File your complaint with the Better Business Bureau, document everything that T-Mobile has been saying to you. Also try to email the CEO, random officers of the company. Corporate email address are usually very, very, very, very easy to guess!

For example Robert Smith is going to be

Rsmith
R.smith
Robet.Smith
Robertsmith

@ Company dot com. Good Luck! May the force be with you! I also would not extend my contract with that $50 dollar "upgrade"

Almost makes you want to leave for Sprint lol.

I have the G2x and for the most part it's been a very good for me. Biggest issue for me is BT headaches. I'd be on a call and BT would disconnect. If the call was an hour it would drop 4-5 times. I had some other minor issues but if a phone can't be used as a phone what's the point. Anyway, the Sensation just works, right out of the box. If I were in your shoes I'd pay the $50 and be done with it.

I did send it to a bunch of corporate people at T-Mobile

kelly.spindle@t-mobile.com,
john.birrer@t-mobile.com,
jim.alling@t-mobile.com,
larry.myers@t-mobile.com,
doug.chartier@t-mobile.com,
peter.ewens@t-mobile.com,
customerrelations@t-mobile.com,
executiveresponse@t-mobile.com

These are all the big wig execs I was able to find. After getting contacted by corporate and being told to shove it, it doesn't look like I will be getting it for free.

the $50 offer is a GOOD offer. I'd take it. Its what you would have paid had you skipped the g2x in the first place. The carrier doesn't warranty the phones, the manufacturer does. They could just tell you to contact LG for any further issues.

I bought the G2X from Wirefly for $150, then got an adjustment when it went down to $100. So in reality, I would end up paying $150 for the sensation.

honestly, paying only a $50 upgrade is nothing for a better and much sturdier phone. I keep telling people that LG is actually Gold Star - the company that back in the day made crappy appliances. Now they make crappy phones. One of my relatives bought one of those phones and had trouble from day 1.

to be fair everyone does not have a crap experience, however, i hear more people complaining and taking them back. t-mo reps at t he stores, if you engage them, will tell you not to get them on the DL.

pay up and enjoy my friend.
