Default So, given the recent Atrix unlock....

Since the Atrix has a bootloader unlock process, and the Atrix and X2 platforms are somewhat similar (both being Tegra 2, both likely using the same NVidia bootloader), do folks think that the X2 may see some unlock progress soon? I was just about to bite the bullet and order a DINC2 today, but I'd prefer the dual core of the X2 since I'll need the phone to last me another 2 years. No need for 4G yet, so I want to stick to the best performance and battery life available in a 3G phone on Big Red.

Well... Verizon's tiered data doesn't start till July so you could see what turns up in the following weeks. I have my X2 rooted and can't wait for 2.3.4 to pop up.

My contract is up on July 24th, and if the rumors of existing customers being grandfathered are true that's not too much of a concern. I'm eligible for an early upgrade on my line and my OG Droid is ailing, so I had FINALLY picked a phone...until today. Is there a beta program from moto for the X2 like there is for the Atrix? That would give a better idea of what's in the pipeline...

I'm wondering if the grandfathering is only if you don't sign a new two year. But I can say I'm happy with my X2. You can also root easily and freeze the bloat until the developer's take flight.

I have a philosophical argument at play that I neglected to mention. If Moto is going to continue to be developer friendly, I'll buy their device. If not, I'll go HTC and support a dev friendly company.
