Not likely. UK (And European carriers in general) operate on GSM cellphone frequencies, whereas Sprint and Verizon in the US operate on CDMA. Totally different "languages" when it comes to transmission of voice and data. I'm afraid the answer is no unless you can find a CDMA carrier with the right frequency in the UK.
However, if you're not minding a lack of voice/3G/4G signal, you can use wifi. That will at least give you a feel of how GOD DAMNED FAST this phone is.
