Default Car chargers

Has anyone tested different chargers on the evo 3d yet? If so, what's the best/fastest charger to get...

$4.60 shipped with Amazon Prime. I hope it will work! Just ordered one.

Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter micro-USB Rapid Rate Charger - SELECT Amazon from the seller options on the right.

I have used these for the Optimus, EVO Shift and EVO 4G and they work great. However it did not work for the EVO 3D. I need to try it with the one in my other car to determine whether the charger went bad or they don't work.

Anyone having trouble with battery charging?

I will charge over night and battery will be around 97-99% but won't make it to 100%.

While using my car charger, it won't stay at 100%, will drain while just texting/internet. It only drains down to 97% or so but It's annoying because my EVO 4G would stay at 100% while on car charger.

Should I try to get another battery or is it supposed do to that with trickle charge/discharge?

I'm going to Sprint and trying one of the official car chargers.

motorola car chargers are a bit iffy. personally, i wouldnt use them because ive seen them ruin other manufactures phones. its not an immediate thing, but after prolonged use charging ports go bad. theyve even had to put out special chargers because their normal ones werent compatible with their own devices (the i576 comes to mind)

I bought this one. http://www.amazon.com/MicroUSB-Charg...9792315&sr=8-4
Its the OEM HTC one for the thunderbolt. It has two USB ports and both charge at 1000ma, so you could charge two evos at once plus it works with the iGrip car mount. Oh yeah and you can plug in any USB cable you want to charge any phone.

Who cares if says 98%, 99% or even 100% it's not that big of a deal. at least to most.
As for the chargers, I will not use any of these cheap crappy units being sold on Ebay and other sites. My son bought the 4G when it was first released and couldn't be found any where. He ordered the extra batteries, 110 charger, 12 volt charger, screen protector for something like $2.99 including shipping ( yes, I am joking on the price, no need to correct me, just get the idea we are talking cheap crap here ) I told him that I wouldn't trust the chargers. I didn't know but he left the phone on the 12volt charger in my F350 dually while we did the grocery shopping at WalMart. Probably gone 30-45 min at the most. Came out to the truck and the cab was filled with smoke and the charger was so hot you couldn't hold it. Took my shirt off and ripped the charger out of the socket. It had started to melt. Scares me to think what would have happened if we were at the movies instead of WalMart. He contacted the seller about the problem and they sent him another crappy 12 volt charger, Yeah right!!!!! The cheap batteries lasted ok, but I sure wouldn't use the cheap chargers. I have the one at Sprint that also has a USB socket on it so I can charge 2 phones at the same time. Radio Shack also sells some decent 12 volt chargers, but be real careful with the Ebay crap. If you do risk it you better make sure you got your insurance premiums paid up to date.

That's how it works. If you watched your phone all night long, you'd notice it get to 100%, and then drop down to 99 a few minutes later. One day, if you're lucky, it'll be at 100%. Mine was this morning. It charges to 100, then lets itself discharge to 95% or so, then back up to 100, over and over. It also charges super slowly above 90%, not sure why, but I assume it's to "Fill" the battery up as much as possible. Also, if you do some research on battery charging, you'll find out that the closer a battery is to full, the slower it charges. (IIRC 66% of the remaining battery life per charge period. So 0-66% in the same time it takes to go from 66-88.4, 88.4 to 96, 96-98.6, 98.6-99.5, etc.. But I learned this back in High School, and can't find any thing on the internet to support it in my quick 10 min fact search... Lol)

The OG Evo did the same thing kinda, but didn't display it correctly, and it was the cause of the "Dropping 5% in the first minute of use" problem. The phone would charge to 100%, and then discharge to 95%, and stay there, but the battery icon would say 100% until you unplugged it. Then the system would check the battery, realize it was really at 95%, and change the display number.

The Evo 3D just tells it how it is, in real time.
