[DEVS ONLY] APK Port? Doble APK? Without Root?

Developers I want you guys to study this.

I recently download an supposed HTC Camera app, that contains Panoramic and other features, the funny story here is that if this is really a HTC Camera APK it is supposed to replace the current one(right?) And it didn't replace the file, So i have 2 Camera APK(although is buggy as hell, but you guys can make it perfect)

So i want you guys to study this, if it is useful to for example port a HTC Keyboard with arrows and don't have to replace the current one.

Root will come soon enough. And with it all the mods you can handle. These threads are counter productive. We need devs working on finding root not trying to port things the hard way without it. Give it a week.

Hey Rocky. :) Nice to see you've found my hack, "v3.tt"

I am not exactly 100% sure what you are saying...so please clarify.

Rocky, if you read my OP from that link, I detailed exactly what I did to make the hack work as advertised. It is not a "supposed HTC Camera app", it is the "HTC Camera app". :)

What I did was edit all the smali and all instances of the identity of the apk in the xml (keep in mind, there is a much easier way to do what I did for the camera apk, but that wouldn't have been nearly as fun).

Using this method, it is very possible to install multiple instances of the "same" app, just different versions, so that one does not have to replace the other.

After learning that the Evo 3d has no arrows (thanks misfit), I thought to myself maybe I could do the same thing. This was earlier last night. At least until there is Root anyways. Then, one could potentially install the HTC_IME over itself, although with a different identity.

Something to think about, if you find a mod or apk, perhaps link to the thread you found it. Maybe, just maybe, the OP of that thread has all the information necessary. ;)

edit. I should note that I did not come up with the apk or the idea of the apk. That is HTC. Also, I was not the first to find the Sense 3.0 camera. That was francios. All I did was mentioned renamed the identity of the apk.

Hi Tommy didn't know that was your app, I did a Google search and downloads, but it is nice that you saw this post, now we can request you the Keyboard haha

With your method we can use the original 3VO Keyboard and the one with arrows, without having to replace them.

Also is coming to my mind that we could take some skin with trasnparencie and ported over here with that method, or for that we have to port the Rosie?

Tommys on the 3d too!! Nice!! Im sure good mods will come from u as always!!

The IME requires the correct lib guys so be careful trying to install a new one.
