Default Root explorer settings wont stick

I updated root explorer to 3.16 and now it resets the preferences to default every time I exit it. Thought it was the version so went back to 3.15. That did the same thing, reset to default settings ever exit.
I then removed it and reinstalled 3.15 and same thing. I cleared data and same thing. I'm lost on why and what to do to fix it the way it was

Go into dbdata/database and delete the root explorer folder, uninstall/reinstall root explorer.

Dxtra's solution is also what you need for other app's demonstrating the same problem. You just need to find the appropriate named file in the dbdata/database for deletion.

This was actually why I rooted in the first place...seemed if I installed an app, uninstalled (didn't like it), installed again (changed my mind) then some app's settings would not hold. It's a O.S. bug that's been around for a while (my opinion). I assume the reinstalled app cannot replace the original settings due to incorrect permissions?
