Default [Q] Incoming Audio Broken Up - Sometimes

I am having trouble hearing INCOMING AUDIO sometimes (outgoing audio is always fine), some people seem to be more of a problem than others, sometimes it will sound great for 1-2 minutes then it starts to get choppy, sometimes it sucks the whole call, sometimes I can talk for 15 minutes and not have a problem. But it all started when I rooted my phone.

I initially rooted the phone using "onetouch root" purely to use app2SD because I was running out of room all the time.... That worked great for a couple of weeks then one day I lost all my Apps..... so at that point I decided to do an all out Root, and ever since I have had problems. I have tried 6-7 different Roms, and yes in the beginning I did a crap job of wiping, but the last few attempts I did it correctly using SDK and fastboot (at least I think).

I have 2.22.27.08 radio and 1.33.0013d Hboot, and used these instructions to install them as well as I wiped through recovery.

The last couple of ROMS I have had none of just one or two initial Force Closes then it ran great and fast (except incoming audio)

I have tried the following 1.6 and 2.? Roms and all have had Incoming Only Audio issues;
  1. froyobylaszlo-5.2.zip (which I LOVE and currently running)
  2. BiffModV2.1.zip
  3. cm_one_full-106.zip
  4. Generic G1 Rooted ROM.zip (even this one seem to have problems)
  5. signed-SuperE103.zip
  6. SuperD111.zip
  7. SuperF-1.zip

Current Performance Settings are;

Min CPU 245mhz
Max CPU 595mhz
Compcache - Disabled
Use JIT - Unchecked
Use Swap - Unchecked
Lock messenging in App - Checked
VM Heep Size - 16m

I have tried various settings, but nothing has seem to help, I have tried Swappiness on previous installed roms and it did not help.

I think my 2 Gig Kingston SDHC Card is only a Class 2 card, I just ordered a Class 6 Extreme III 4gig Sandisk Memory Card.

I am quite the Rooting Newbie, but any and all help would be surely appreciated,

Thanks, Bryan

Well I went out and bought a used MyTouch today since I use my phone for business and needed something that worked until I fixed my G1.... and..... It has the same problem.... not nearly as bad but some callers audio is still breaking up or is choppy at times. (at least the first call I made did - and it was after all the syncing and program downloads)

Any ideas what else it could be??? I have 3 out of 4 bars, I replaced the sim card last year, just not sure.... probably will call Tmobile Customer Service later today or tomorrow.

Thanks,

Bryan
