Default Super One Click Root Inquiry

I have already posted this on page 8 of the Super One click Root guide but alas I doubt it shall be seen which is why I am now posting it here:

This guide is really awesome. I get my revo tomorrow so I am trying to learn everything I can. I thought it was important to make backups before you root/unroot. Is this still the case? If so, why are there no instructions on when or how to make the backup.

I remember on the Eris I had to do a nandroid backup before I rooted so I could reload it if need be. Is that no longer the case with the revo? I don't want leave it rooted if I have to return it for warranty work.

Thanks for the help!

You can't make a backup if you're not rooted, because you need root in order to flash recovery.
