Hello!

First of all thank you for the time and hard work with the builds.

I've installed the latest version on my HTC Desire A8181 with Android 2.3.3 of RuHD custom firmware, but don't see any options to enable video call, although in extended settings it says that my camera was found...

Could you please help me to figure out the problem? I can provide any info you need for it, like aLogCat logs, etc.

Thank you very much in advance.

P.S.: I've also tried this(no video calls too):

Have you enabled video? See the screen shots from my desire settings, these are found by pressings menu button and the the advanced settings.

@J-Pro

Yes, v13 has no "Force enable video-calling" option.
I built another one later, here, try this:

Next build will merge these and be cleaner.

I'm on ICS but I haven't tried skype at all
Isn't it working? I'll check when I get some time.

@theos0o I tried this version that you suggested to @J-Pro because I had the same issue, but as soon as I enable "Force Video" option, skype crashes after login.
I use a rooted Samsung Galaxy Gio S5660 (which is a very nice smartphone by the way).
I would really love to enable the video call option in skype albeit with my back camera. Thanks for your advice and thanks for the nice work!

Hi,

I'm trying to get the video chat working on my i897 Captivate. I am on an i9000 based GB ROM (JVZ Mosiac 9).

I un-installed Market version of Skype, pasted this v13 .apk to /system/app...then installed and I can login but video chat displays all black on either camera (obviously front camera won't work on i897). Audio works fine. I tried going into advance settings for an option that I can't remember the title of that indicates to use if video is all black and I still get same result.

When I rebooted my phone and try logging into Skype, it tells me I need to un-install Skype and then forces me back to the Market for re-install.

I also tried renaming the .apk to just be 'Skype_2.6.0.95.apk' and get same results...

Any ideas?
Thanks!

Edit: I installed the .apk from post # 1803 and at least not telling me I need to re-install Skype...will test video call functionality later when at home. Thanks!

theos0o, one more question about the executable you suggested: my brother tried it on his Orange San Fransisco(aka ZTE Blade) with Android 2.2. He logs in successfully, but when presses Advanced Settings(which is with simple questionmark icon instead of cool gears which are on my HTC), skype crashes.

Here is his log from alogcat: log (zip with txt inside)

As I can see, there is an NPE there...

Could you please advise if you have some time?

Thank you in advance.
