I have installed XXJPS from samfirware and then downloaded "5 Lockscreen Mod and Extended Power Menu for Odexed XXJPQ and XXJPS." I installed it but I dont know how to apply other lockscreens? And it seems that I have no extended power menu.

Can anyone help me out pls?

Installing JPS from samfirmware doesn't quite mean a clean rom since it doesn't wipe data. But independently from this, I don't know what is wrong with your applying method. If I were you I would try to do a factory reset after 'installing' samfirmware's rom then root and do the steps are written.

Or you can use RootExplorer to make some free diskspace on your /system (i.e. delete some unnecessary Samsung app) before you copy the modded files into their suitable folders (/system/framework and /system/app). This method also should work.

I guess I'm supposed to update my first post again It will be on next week.

when I click "push_5lckscr_to_deodexed_jps.bat", it says somewhere 'read-only filesystem' (or something like that but i'm sure that my i5801 is rooted and deodexed.
How do I solve this problem?

I have also tried it through root explorer but when I reboot (it did it accually by itself :s), I saw no settingsbutton but I did had an extended powermenu.
Can someone explain my why?

If the kernel of your rom is the stock one, then you will get a 'read-only filesystem' message even if your rom is rooted (it doesn't matter if it is deodexed or not). I don't use stock kernels, however I tested this case and the easiest solution of this issue was re-rooting for me.

So you can flash G3Mod or FuguMod kernel to avoid the 'read-only' problem or just do the how-to steps from the 'Getting root access' part even if your rom is already rooted. Important to not reboot after rooting, but run the batch file directly after SuperOneClick said 'Rooted!'.

(I don't know how do you mean this 'no settingsbutton' problem, but I guess that some process in RootExplorer was failed...)

This mod is NOT for XXJPM! It has been made from the framework files of a JPQ and JPS, so on an odexed JPM rom it causes bootloop!

(You must be rooted and know how to push files to the phone. And one more thing: first of all you should check the free space in /system (e.g. if you use RootExplorer), especially on the odexed roms.)

HOW-TO:
5 Lockscreen Mod

It’s started from the point you have flashed a clean, stock JPS or JPQ via Odin: the device is already booted and you have unplugged the USB cable from it.

Getting root access
- Go to ’Settings > Applications > Development’ and enable ’USB debugging’
- Plug the USB cable back into the phone > run SuperOneClick.exe > press ’Root’ and wait
- When the ’Test?’ dialogue is popped up, say ’Yes’ > you can close SuperOneClick
- Your device has been rooted
- Directly after these steps, do the followings:

Pushing modified files to the phone
- Download the suitable zip for your odexed or deodexed JPQ or JPS rom
- Extract the downloaded zip
- Navigate into the extracted folder
- Run ’push_5lckscr....bat’ and wait*, your device will have rebooted
- Modded files are already pushed to the phone, now you can use your favourite lockscreen and the extended power menu

Of course there are other methods, RootExplorer etc.

*If you are on an odexed rom and see something like this in cmd: "failed to copy 'system\framework/framework.odex' to '/system/framework/framework.odex': No space left on device" and "rm failed for /system/framework/framework.jar, No such file or directory", don't panic, it's normal due to the low free space.

Hi again! Now I have come with a very nice and well known mod. However this one is for people who want to have the 5 Lockscreen Mod and Extended Power menu, but don't want to have a deodexed rom!

So you can download this mod for your odexed XXJPQ/XXJPS from above. I've just realized that the only reason for me to deodex a rom is because of those damn lockscreens and the extended power menu. But I could not find this mod for odexed roms, so I had to odex it by myself.

Hi All!

After I had deodexed a stock (only rooted) XXJPQ rom, I tried to apply the 5 lockscreen mod on it. Seemed like everything was good... But when I had opened the "Internet", it force-closed immediately (nor factory reset didn't help).

So I had started to search the reason of this issue. After a while I figured out that the FCing of the Internet app was because of the "non-JPQ" framework.jar. So I took the JPQ's framework.jar and added a .smali file to its classes.dex what is necessary for the extended power menu (com\android\internal\app\ShutdownThread.smali).

The result: working 5 lock screen mod with extended power menu on JPQ without crashing of the Internet app!

If interested, you can download it from here. Framework-res.apk and Settings.apk are stock themed files, so you can delete that lines from the batch... Actually, the relevant file is the framework.jar.

The 5 Lock screen Mod is working flawlessly though i have a problem - My Packet Data isn't working anymore?
Any idea what might have cause this?

sorry if this is a stupid question;P but when i try to apply it on dutchmods (odexed jps) i get some fc and then a softbrick when i try the deodexed version nothing happend? i even made a update.zip but still nothing happend do you know what the problem is
