Wouldn't an extended battery still be a second battery...but with more capacity?

Or you could do what I did. Switch to bonsai rom

I have an extra battery. Even with an extended battery you are still tehered to the wall when it needs charging.

I can just change batteries forever and not have to plug in my phone. I can also take advantage of all the accessories for the epic.

Only downside is the minute it takes to change the battery. I don't have a case on my phone but some of them might be a pain to take on and off all the time.

It only takes about an hour to charge a stock battery from zero to 100% using a seperate charger.

+1 on extra batteries. Epic 4g is already thick, why add additional bulk? I usually take an extra charged battery with me if I am worried about running out of juice.

I have 2 extended batteries, both the same and listed in my sig, and the stock battery. I also have an external charger, so at any point in time I have 2 fully charged batteries waiting for me. Its awesome and only takes 30 seconds to pull a battery and slap in a new one.

It all comes down to ..

Whether you are comfortable taking out the battery and putting a new one in.

Vs.

Extra bulk to your phone.

I'm still unsure when I'll get the extended batt, multiple batteries are cool, but with a good extended you can have it "tethered" to a wall plug while you're "tethered" to your sleeping quarters. All while having the best performance during the day.

I currently run the OEM primary and two cheap chinese normal capacity backups my dad gave me that have about 60% and 40% capacities respectfully and I get by just fine. I do miss the extended battery and don't mind the extra thickness for the added productivity.

Don't go Mugen or Seidio though, HUGE wastes of money.

I had the sedio 3300mah battery, and it sucked. The battery barley lasted the whole day and took forever to charge, plus the cover didn't fit right.

Now I use the samsung oem external charger, I swap battery's as need, usally twice a day. There are also oem 1650mah batterys you can get on ebay mad by samsung.

External charger is the way to go imho.
