Are you really considering taking it back solely because if quadrant scores!?! Wow!

A measurement of performance...quadrant sucks big time. If you judge a phone by this pos...by all means do it. However couple things to mention. Quadrant needs a overhaul in it's testing software..I can get 7 different scores..same phone..7 different times when I run it. There are known ways to fool quadrant into giving a higher score. I remember awhile back I tested cm7 with stock kernel and then overcolocked it..my over clocking speed was less in scores than stock..go figure.

If your EVO is truly NEW then congrats! Its a great cell and still one of the best. Unfortunately there is no root for the newest OTA/firmware version. If you have one with an older ROM, froyo etc..the world is at your fingertips. Start by searching, there are more kernels and more ROMS to ever suit your needs from AOSP plain Google code to Sprint stock ROMS with Sense.

For the future, you may and most likely will get more help, detailed help and advise with what version you are running now, hardware version etc.. it helps to help you if we know more about your cell..not just that you think you are unhappy with it. Good luck..

Sorry had just gotten back from a 4th of July party and was a little surly and a lot drunk, so I apologize, HOWEVER, it's not a friggin' super computer. It's a phone.

Now talking on it is what I do the least, too, and I want it to be as smooth an fast as possible, but I'm not going to sit here and watch someone cry about the speed on this thing, like he expects it to be some custom built computer with a Phenom II 3.2 gig Qadcore running 12 gigs of Corsair DDR3 Ram on an Asus MB that comes with an OC Panel in the Bios......

And THEN say he's gonna dump it for an Epic because he can't OC it past 1.1. Mine isn't even OC'd at all, and it's super fast. Fast enough for me, anyhow. I'm not processing complex algorithms with it, ffs.

You just got back drunk from a 4th of July party? Even on the East coast it's not even 11:30am yet. But hey, who am I to judge?

Or was it yesterday? In which case, wouldn't that be a 3rd of July party? I CALL SHENANIGANS ON YOUR ALIBI!

(Sorry, this thread seemed like it was in need of a good hijacking.)

Dude u practically described my custom built PC but I only have 8 gigs of ram damn it.

But back on topic I get over 1500 in quadrant using cm7 with savagezen kernal and the supercharger script. That script kicks ass and my phone hauls ass and opens apps in half the time it used to compared to before I ran it. I highly recommend it
