Question Help noob root by commands with terminal

I have continuum with dl17 I want to root it but I have no pc can some one help me I have read some phones can be rooted by android terminal emulators can some one figure out how to do this an d give me the commands lines and names of things to download

Thanks please give me any advice you can

umm as far as i know, in order for a terminal emulator to work you have to have root privileges. in order to root most phones now you have to have a computer at hand to connect to

Dang there has gotta be a way is z4root still being developed an updated version that worked with my phone would be awesome

unfortunately z4root works by way of USB debugging when the device is connected to a computer. someone else can probably clarify this more than i can, but that is how i understand it

There's a working one-click root if you have a Windows PC. If not there are other ways, but you'll probably have to catch someone on the IRC chat to talk you through it.

Even if there was a way, if something went wrong, you don't have a way to fix it, and I don't think anyone wants that guilt xP sorry man, until you get a computer, root isn't going to happen for you xP

If I get to a comp how does the one click work I tried it once I could not figure it out

the instructions are pretty straight forward. read the OP from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=910699 and you should be good to go. be sure to have USB debugging enabled
