Default [Q] Wifi dropping on weak signal

Hi,
I've upgraded to GB ROM a week ago and since then although I've installed several versions of GB I'm keep getting wifi dropping to data once wifi signal is low.
I've seen several threads on this and even one fix to HTC desire S (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1051674)

My question - do you've a fix for this? Can someone migrate this fix into Desire GB ROM?

Thank you,
This is critical since most of the day I'm in my work and there the signal is weak.

Moshe

First of all, how did you manage to answer the question 'what am I developing' with this?

Second, unless it drops out right next to an AP, it is the way GB works. It is not very nice trying to keep connection in this manner, but it does.
Device: HTC Desire A8181 (SLCD, PVT3)
Radio: 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23
HBOOT: OxygenR2 (100/5/333)
Recovery: 4EXT Touch 1.0.0.5 RC6
ROM: AN-Droid 2.2.0, Droidzone's June18 kernaaaal.

AP is an abbreviation for access point. Are you in close proximity to yours? It does not look like an issue to me if you get weak signal where it is due. But if you are right next to it and it still drops, then yeah, I'd call it that. Happened to me once or twice.

Thank you.
It's drop only while I'm far from the AP. BUT and this is really annoying in FROYO I get the signal and can work even if I'm far from the AP while with GB it drops!

I know what you mean...i have the same...in the first time of gb we have this problem..also in the near of the router...but with snq v5 kernel its good...

but the wifi signal goes much quicker if we are a far away of the router...this was not so with froyo...but the signal with froyo was also 0...so i donīt know if its really a issue...maybe htc things its better to drop complete and goes back to 3g ..to have always a connection...but not sure about this...think about it...

with kind regards..Alex

Thank you.
Any chance to implement the Desire S fix into Desire GB ROM?

this fix is already in...snq patched the wifi modul...look here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1039004

i think..we must wait for the original gingerbread htc desire update...toget a better radio (and the ril) and maybe a better kernel...and some more...

or maybe the values must be lower again

with kind regards..Alex
