[Q] Auto Rotate Problem, seeking help

Hey XDA Friends,

About month ago i started expieriencing a problem with my phone. I doubt it is a problem with the custom rom i am using.

the problem is that although in the display settings the auto rotate box is checked of, it still rotates to landscape. i dislike when it rotates to landcape like on the browser or even when texting.

anyone know of a fix?

i have installed like 5 roms and the problem still persists.

and no its not the custom laucher settings.



also everytime i restartt my phone it acts like if it is docked in a car, so i have to exit car mode.

Is my phone messed up?

Install Rom manager if u dont already have it & flash the RA Alternate recovery. Reboot into recovery & try wiping the rotate settings,cache & dalvik cache. See if that works...

whoa NO! do NOT install ROM manager if you already don't have it. just go to Amon_RA's thread and follow the instructions there to get Amon_RA. here's the link: [Recovery] [09-Feb-2011] RA-supersonic-v2.3 - xda-developers

once you have Amon_RA you can't use ROM Manager anymore so what's the point if you don't already have it?

I always rotate all those things you just mentioned and still have the same problem. Ill do it once again right now and report back.
