So there is a noticeable difference between the Korean and Chinese versions.
Can you post a photo of the 2 screens to see the difference?
N1 to SGS2 to SGN to HOX T3 to G1 Dev ed. and now back to a N1!

On the $59 plan from Optus. Phone is great but the Optus apps are absolutely shocking. Most aren't even apps but just browser shortcuts to the optus zoo website. Even worse, some of those apps won't allow you to connect via wifi!! Have to use 3G Optus cell connection to use them. Waste of time, waste of space.

Get rid of them as soon as you can, especially the Optus Now app which mysteriously eats up battery even though I wasn't using it at all (not even the widget).

Their version of a GPS navigation app is shocking too, considering SGS2 comes with Navigon GPS (even Google Maps navigation is better than the Optus one) there's absolutely no use for the Optus GPS navigation.

Other than the Optus bloatware, I've been extremely happy with the phone. It's got an amazing screen. 3G speeds have been decent, averages around 3-4Mbit/s in my area and goes upto 6Mbit/s in Sydney CBD.

One issue I've had though which I've seen a lot of other Aussies are having is is with Kies saying I have a firmware update even though it lists the same one as my current version, both KE7. Mine has never been updated, came as KE7, I've only CF-rooted it.

EDIT: Just connected to Kies now and the firmware update prompt has gone. So looks like they've fixed it now. Before, connecting to Kies would always bring up the prompt to update the firmware even though the version was the same.

So I just upgraded to the leaked untouched darkyrom KG1 rom... I didn't do a wipe, but upgrading did wipe the apps / system data.. Titanium backup FTW

Anyway.. since upgrading I've noticed my cell performance is SHOCKING with Telstra!!!! I can no longer listen to online radio on my walk home through Melb CBD... it just buffers all the time.. and i've also noticed sometimes the radio just resets and it'll go to no radio and then cycle to 3g then HSPA+

Am I alone? Did anyone else experience crap after upgrading to KG1 w/ Telstra?
I've just tried to disable fast dormancy? should I have?I'm pretty much always in Melb CBD...

speed-test results always come back good funnily enough:
Fast dormancy enabled:
11658 down / 303 up

Disabled
10704 down /392 up

Ideas?

I've got one from Export Prive and I can say it's very nice. The tilt and turn angles are huge and since my front windscreen is at a lower angle compared to most (honda civic), it works great with it.

It comes with a mini-usb car charger, and the dock itself has a port at the back where you plug in the mini-usb charger.

Its hard to fault the thing, but one thing does nag at me. If the phone has a case on it, it won't fit in the stand. The phone has to be near bare for it to fit...

I haven't tested the KG1 firmware (I think I'll wait for the official release, hopefully it won't be long now), but I am interested in some feedback on this issue since I am also on telstra (UK SGS2, bought before I moved in Australia last month).

I'm on Cognition with the KG1 modem, and have been having network troubles. Although they started before I rooted and flashed it. I have put it down to the phone switching between networks, as when it is on 3G it works fine, however when it switches up to H it drops connection (still have full bars but get network errors) so maybe a 2.3.3/2.3.4 problem? At the moment it is hit and miss with what works and what doesn't, but I have found that switching HSDPA and HSPA off and manually selecting some Bands works, but I am going to try switching between a few different ROMs and modems tonight to try and get full functionality back. Just out of curiosity, what where you on before KG1?

I've always rocked the stock roms w/ root access.. before KG1 I was on KF1.. I noticed a big difference in stable connection between the two. Disabling fast dormancy really really seems to have improved things dramatically.

Are you with Telstra though? I love having HSPA+ on.. i was getting 12mbps before!!

Nope I'm with Vodafone, I was going to wait and change to Telstra, but I got impatient. I think I was on KF2 stock. So you're saying KF1 is more stable connection wise?
