Hi,

Just wondering what firmware people have been using for Telstra in Melbourne?

I've tried XWKI4, seems fast sometimes(over 4Mbps), but the majority of the time it's under 1Mbps.

I'm tempted to try the Telstra DVKF4 firmware for reference, but don't really want the Telstra branding.....

Any advice would be great!

If you're strictly speaking about data speeds, you don't need to flash the entire Telstra firmware. You can flash the Telstra MODEM (DVKF2) to see how fast your download speeds are since the firmware doesn't govern how your phones radio is interacting with your telco provider.

Oh cool. Sorry for the noobness, but have you got a link where I can get the Telstra MODEM and perhaps a guide?

Greatly appreciated

I'm currently working my way through different ROM's and Kernel, but I've just done a quick Speedtest on CM7.1 Stable Build with the Kernel that comes with CM7 and got a solid ~8000kbps. And I'm on the top end of Bourke Street.

Looks like the links in the post are for the DUFK4? Not DVFK4?

Have you got a link for DVFK4 modem?
