Unhappy Can't get Google Voice onto my Gen8

I am tearing my hair out.

Every time I try to install the latest Google Voice (0.4.2.32) on my A70, I get an "application not installed" error. I have tried three different apks from three places. I first tried my own backups from my phone using Titanium and Astro. Then I tried downloads from two different sites. The latest version only requires 1.6 and up, so I don't think it's a version thing.

I have selected install apps from unknown sources, but still no good. I can't find GV in the Market because the market fix doesn't work for me anymore. I've tried it a dozen times.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I use my tablet for everything and GV is a must for me.

Samsung Galaxy Note SGH-T879
ROM: CM10 Nightlies http://goo.gl/JU6Iz
Recovery: TWRP 2.x

Kindle Fire

Recovery: TWRP 2.2.x

Here's a working one. Make sure there are no other copies of GV installed, either to /data or /system. (If Voice is in the Apps list, get rid of it). Then install with this apk.

don't know why i hadn't thought of this before.

i got the evo3d as my first sprint phone. if i put google voice on it, then i can put gv on my archos and also get my texts right?

only thing would be on my phone i hate gv having the control over them so i still have it go to handcent.
could i have my archos actually notify me of texts?

my cell service sucks at home this would be great

msticninja, could I get you to be a bit more explicit here? I'm going to need to root to do this? I havn't rooted my device and have GV 0.4.2.8 installed now. Uninstall and Settings->Applications give me simply the option to "Uninstall updates" to GV which I think will leave me with an older GV installed, and not the absence of GV that you are saying needs to be done. Thanks.
