Default [Q] Motorola Photon 4G + LTE?

Maybe I'm crazy, but everything I keep reading for specs on the Sprint Photon 4G keeps showing that it has a dual Wimax/LTE chip in it. Is this verified? Will the Photon 4G really be able to connect to Sprint's LTE towers when the Lightsquared deal finishes? If so, I've gone from "no way" to "hell yes" on buying this phone having tasted LTE on the Thunderbolt. I would love to future-proof myself finally.

I don't know if it does or not but I agree that if it is LTE capable, it would be a sick phone.

Not only that, but it would show which direction sprint is moving in. Thanks for pointing this out.

There is no LTE support on the Sprint Photon 4G. If there was, the FCC docs would have indicated it. Besides, dual mode TD/FDD LTE chips are too expensive right now, and tri-mode M-WiMAX/TDLTE/FDDLTE chips are even more so...

However, it does include UMTS 850/1900 support, like the Motorola XPRT, the Motorola DROID Pro, the Motorola DROID 2 Global, and the Motorola DROID 3 do.

I heard about this as well. Also heard a rumor that the EVO 3D was capable of using LTE in the future and it just needs activated.

Hard to figure out what to believe.

Anyone able to check the radios to confirm if LTE is available on this phone? Is there space for motorola to add in an LTE chip like the Xoom in the future?

I heard rumors that it can do LTE and gsm-arena listed it as being a feature for a little while, but from what I can tell looking at my own phone it doesn't have that capability.
