Question [Q] booting clockworkmod from Zio m6000 Cricket phone without use of a pc?

Is there a way to boot into clockworkmod recovery on a Zio M6000 Cricket phone without the use of your pc to do so??
I have a friend who has a t-mobile phone and he showed me last night that he can boot recovery from his phone and do all the same things in clockworkmod recovery right from his phone without a pc. Obviously, he wasn't near a pc when he showed me it. lol.
I think he said something about using nandroid or something to do it but not sure. I wanted to know if anyone has an app or something that will allow the Zio to boot into clockworkmod without a pc just the same so we Zio users can do restore and backups and such without the use of the pc and cmd to do so?
Thank you,
TC

Perhaps once we have CM6 since CWM is part of a complete build it might work. I don't know whether it's the kernel or the rom causing an issue with rebooting to recovery.

Something tells the phone to erase data and cache when rebooting to recovery.

It would be great if it does become possible. Would be so much easier when your not at home and the phone screws up you can fix it right were your at rather then have to wait to get home when or if it happens. I ran into that problem a few times.
J just noticed my netflix app is saying there is another update again for it so even that now is becoming a problem for me.
