I've just put that file in sd card and rebooted in bootloader, it asked for update, chose yes and it's done! thank you
no rom re-install etc. required.
The radio is flashed onto a different part of the memory. It has nothing to do with the ROM . Same goes for the Hboot and Recovery. All these 4 components are going to different parts... So flashing just one of them won't affect the others.
Did my post help you? Did you like my post? Do you hate me? Regardless. Hit the button!

Hi,

My HTC Desire S hang in the white HTC screen while booting after i have updated radio to 20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04
my original radio is 20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03

I can get into sdcard using another phone to replace the PG88IMG.zip file with my original radio version. Updated back to original version, but still hang in HTC white screen.

anyone can help me?

TQ

try taking out your memory card from phone and delete that file using memory card reader.

Oh i see. Well, changing radio didn't help in solving that issue when i connect phone to my laptop, it freezes my laptop four times for half a sec each and then usb not recognized error comes. windows update or htc drivers files doesn't help solving it. Should I consider changing hboot or recovery?

wipe partition, dalvik cache etc.. install new rom and then try other radio from the list and share the results.

I got this guide from another thread and solved my problem.

Used PG88IMG.zip method to flash the new radio
When rebooting after update, I pulled out battery, deleted PG88IMG.zip from the SD Card
Went back into HBOOT (noted the radio version - shows the update) and selected Recovery, phone rebooted into Clockworkmod
Received a bunch of "E: Can't mount cache" messages, ignored them
Selected "wipe cache partition"
Rebooted recovery, no more "E: Can't mount cache" messages
Rebooted system
Now it booted up without delays and with the new radio working fine

Maybe this guide can help others who want to flash a new radio...

So, it worked? I have the same problem now... But... pulling out the battery while rebooting is not that good idea, actually.

I don't know if it's a good idea.
Indeed, in this process you must pull out the battery, and we know that's the eMMC chip could be fried if you pull out the battery

Look at this :[INDEX][16 MAR 12] ROMS/RECOVERY/ROOT/HBOOT/RADIOS/TWEAKS/GUIDES/etc

FRIED eMMC CHIP? from @ben_pyett

I've not tried any of these actions myself as I haven't yet experienced this issue, I'd recommend that great care should be taken before following any of the advice given, I suggest that you at least read and attempt to understand first, if you don't understand then create a new post detailing your own issue and experiences so that others can assist you and point you in the right direction.

The errors below don't necessarily mean that you've a fried eMMC chip, so don't panic just yet. Many users have experienced the exact errors below and have gone on to simply resolve the issue and use their devices again normally.
Code:

E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log

[SHORT GUIDE]Read this before going for eMMC replacement.
[DIAGNOSE & SOLVE] BRICKed: inside eMMC's dead,with E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
[DANGER DIFFERENT DEVICE] Recovery error information thread (E:Cant mount /cache/recovery/command)
[GUIDE] Possible FIX for the infamous eMMC problem..
I think that you could understand what I mind when I write that it's was not a good idea to insert this in OP

Guys, if i want to change my radio from the latest one to the older one, is it safe to flash it with the normal way (put it in sd card root and then flash it through cwm)?
